Vale of York Lodge of Advancement history Consecrated 11th March, 1993, by R.W.Bro. John Malcolm Raylor Provincial Grand Master
| AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
1. To establish a Lodge which will take, and continue, a fresh approach to Masonry, creating a style less formal than at present.
2. To encourage the development of Masonic Knowledge and understanding by way of lectures, discussions and instruction.
3. To encourage the establishment of friendship between members and their families by such social meetings as the members may from time to time agree.
4. No member who is a Past Master shall take the chair of the Lodge, except in circumstances which render this essential; similarly, Past Masters shall hold as few offices in the Lodge as is practicably possible.
5. The Master in each year shall appoint his Officers, and there shall be no formal procedure laid down for advancement of any member.
6. There shall be no Lodge of Instruction attached to the Lodge, no formal system of Lodge rehearsal, and no Lodge committee. All matters requiring discussion and decision shall be dealt with in Open Lodge.
7. The Lodge shall not involve itself in “official” visits with other Lodges. Visitors will be encouraged and will be most welcome, but will be expected, except in the case of Provincial Rulers or Representatives, to deal with their own financial responsibilities so far as the bar and Festive Board are concerned.
8. The membership of the Lodge shall be limited to about 50, and should there be growth beyond this number, then the Lodge will give every encouragement to the establishment of a new Lodge with similar aims and objectives.
